Denbigh High School

Denbigh High School (Ysgol Uwchradd Dinbych) is the town's English-medium secondary school, established on 1 September 1939 and today serving pupils aged 11 to 18 from Denbigh, St Asaph and the surrounding rural villages, including Trefnant, Henllan and Tremeirchion.

The school is part of the Dyffryn Clwyd Consortium, a partnership arrangement at A level with neighbouring schools that allows students to study subjects taught at other institutions in the area, with transport provided between sites. The consortium originally included St Brigid's School in Denbigh, Ysgol Brynhyfryd in Ruthin and Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St Asaph, alongside Denbigh College, though Ysgol Brynhyfryd and Ysgol Glan Clwyd withdrew from the arrangement in 2018.

Denbigh High School serves as one of the principal secondary schools for the town and its surrounding villages, providing education for local families as part of the Denbighshire schools network. Like most Welsh secondary schools, it offers bilingual provision reflecting the area's mixed English and Welsh-speaking community, alongside the wider curriculum expected of a comprehensive school.

The school plays a significant role in the town's community life well beyond the classroom, hosting local events and sporting fixtures and serving as a focal point for families across the wider Vale of Clwyd catchment area.
